Sam Sharma's visual art practice incorporates painting (primarily), printmaking, sculpture and textiles. She worked as a doctor in palliative medicine and general practice for nearly 20 years before leaving the profession to focus more energy on art.

Sam has an enduring interest in the body as a site of knowledge. Her enquiry engages with the life cycle, transformation and the interplay of internal and external worlds, exploring how the embodied experience of painting can come close to expressing these states.
